How is a woman’s trust in her own body built or undermined in a society that scrutinizes it, judges it, and imposes standards that bodies no longer fit? For women, trust is first and foremost experienced through the body. It is there that autonomy, freedom, and the right to be heard and to shape one’s own narrative are measured. Monica Calcagni reflects on the impact of aesthetic stereotypes on health and on self-perception conditioned by the societal gaze, with the aim of restoring to women an authentic trust in their own bodies.
