Towards a ‘new world’? Europe, the Mediterranean and the Global South

The last three years have changed global geopolitical and geo-economic balances, calling globalisation into question and emphasising the already existing tensions, or triggering new crises in the face of new alliances. We are facing a ‘new world’, but also a series of deja vu: returns to the past that dismantle certainties, towards an unexplored future full of uncertainties. In such picture that evokes surrealism, Europe plays a key role, also linked to the Mediterranean and the ‘new Global South’.

In dialogue with Francesca Longo, Professor of Political Science, University of Catania.
