Freedom is a duty

The right, ius, is justice. It is a fair society, which guarantees the respect for the fundamental freedoms of the person, can only be, conforming to etymology, a society that applies the law, detaching itself from an ethical connotation that would lead to persecuting sinners, instead of those who do not behave according to law. The Italian Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio, in Giustizia (Liberilibri) discuss upon the concept of justice in history and the need for a reform of criminal law in a distinctly accusatory sense.
