The best of Italian talent serving the most intriguing novel of the twentieth century
Actresses, directors, and musicians for the grand finale of Taobuk 2025

There is one boundary that cannot be crossed: that of imagination and linguistic construction in Stefano D’Arrigo’s work, who, with his Horcynus Orca, wrote 50 years ago the most intriguing novel of the late twentieth century.
The homecoming of the soldier ‘Ncambria, who after September 8, 1943, embarks on an eight-day journey from Rome back to his hometown Messina, crossing the strait inhabited by creatures both fantastic and daring, becomes the show of the year.

It was conceived by the talents who sold out the Greek tragedies in Syracuse and staged the most admired openings at La Scala in the last decade: Gep Cucco, with the friendly participation of Davide Livermore. In the incredible setting of the Ancient Theatre of Taormina, they have recreated the narrative of this great novel accompanied by the music of Max Casacci, leader of Subsonica, who will perform live the sounds of orcas and the Mediterranean.

On stage with him, reading the most poignant pages of the hidden depths, are Bond Girl Caterina Murino and the expressive talent Linda Gennari, supported by another exceptional reader, Vinicio Capossela, Italy’s leading expert on whales, sailors, and prophets in Italian culture.
