Igiaba Scego

Born in Rome in 1974, Igiaba Scego is an Italian-Somali writer and freelance researcher, the daughter of parents who immigrated to Italy following the 1969 coup d’état in Somalia. A graduate in Foreign Literatures from Sapienza University of Rome, she later earned a PhD in Pedagogy. Her literary work explores themes of identity, diaspora, and postcolonialism, reflecting on her dual cultural heritage. She contributes to Tuttolibri – La Stampa and Internazionale. Currently, she is finalizing an important co-curatorial project with the Museum of Civilizations in Rome.
