Edoardo Leo

A director, actor and screenwriter, he began his career in 1995 on the small screen with La luna rubata directed by Gianfranco Albano. Between 2003 and 2004, he took port to two seasons of the hit TV show Un medico in famiglia. He then participated in successful dramas such as Caterina e le sue figlie 2, Romanzo criminale – La serie, I Cesaroni 3, Crimini 2, Il signore della truffa.

2015 is the year of Noi e la Giulia, which he directed and starred in, and won the 2015 Nastro d’Argento for best comedy. The same year he will take part with Marco Giallini in Francesco Miccichè and Fabio Bonifacci’s comedy Loro chi?

He will find the Roman comedian again in Paolo Genovese’s comedy Perfetti sconosciuti (2016). Again in 2016, he directed his fourth feature film, Che vuoi che sia, in which he also starred alongside Anna Foglietta and Rocco Papaleo. After numerous comedies, including two more chapters of Smetto quando voglio, and Gli uomini d’oro, he is noted for the role of Alessandro in Ozpetek’s La dea fortuna, and plays Elisa Girotto’s husband in the film based on her story: 18 regali. In 2021, he launched Lasciarsi un giorno a Roma, a film he wrote, directed and starred in, and his first documentary, Luigi Proietti detto Gigi. In 2022 he stars in Era ora, War – La guerra desiderata and directs and stars with Massimiliano Bruno in I migliori giorni.
