Bernard-Henri Lévy is a philosopher and essayist, as well as a novelist, filmmaker, and playwright, with over forty books to his credit. Born in 1948, he was among the founders of the “New Philosophers” movement. A committed intellectual, he is known for his opposition to authoritarianism in all its forms and for advocating the “duty to intervene.” Universally known as BHL, he writes columns for numerous publications in France and abroad, chairs the advisory board of the French television network Arte, and is the editor of the magazine La Règle du jeu.
