Antonio Scurati

Antonio Scurati (Naples, June 25, 1969) is an Italian writer, essayist, and academic. A graduate in Philosophy from the University of Milan, he earned a PhD in Theory and Textual Analysis from the University of Bergamo. He teaches Comparative Literature and Creative Writing at IULM University in Milan, where he founded the Master’s program in Storytelling Arts. He is a columnist for Corriere della Sera. He is best known for his monumental work on the life of Benito Mussolini: M. Il figlio del secolo (Bompiani, 2018), winner of the 2019 Strega Prize, which was adapted into an internationally successful television series. His other books include Il sopravvissuto (2005), winner of the Campiello Prize. In 2020, he was awarded the honor of Commendatore dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana by the President of the Republic.
