Alfio Russo

Alfio Russo (Macchia di Giarre, Catania, March 13, 1902 – Rome, October 5, 1976) was an Italian journalist. Founder and first editor-in-chief of the Catania daily newspaper La Sicilia in 1945, he later directed Florence’s La Nazione from 1953 to 1961, and finally Corriere della Sera from 1961 to 1968. During those years, the Milanese daily experienced a period of significant editorial renewal and the expansion of its newsroom.
