Professional journalist, writer, and photojournalist. He was born in Maniago in 1958 and currently lives in the province of Pordenone. He studied Medicine and Surgery at the University of Trieste up to his sixth year before deciding in 1982 to register with the National Order of Journalists. He has worked for various Italian newspapers, radio stations, TV networks, magazines, and for over 20 years with the daily newspaper Il Gazzettino. As a correspondent, he has produced journalistic and photographic reports from numerous countries across Europe, the Far North, the United States, Latin America, Australia, Russia, Africa, and the Middle East, including during the Balkan conflict.
He teaches as an independent lecturer at university level and in training courses for Italian journalists accredited by the Order of Journalists. He is also the Communication Director of the social communication agency www.fdlcommunication.it. In addition to training, he works in communication consultancy, including digital communication.
He has authored over twenty books, several of which have been adapted into films and theatrical productions in Italy. Some of his works have received support and patronage from the Ministries of Solidarity and Health, Public Education, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, UNICEF, the UN, various Italian and international NGOs, and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.
Throughout his career, he has received numerous national and international awards and honors. He has developed and published hundreds of print media reports, particularly focusing on social issues.
