Judicial reform remains a central topic on the political agenda, especially following the approval in the Italian Chamber of the bill on the separation of judicial careers. The coming two years will also be crucial for meeting the targets agreed upon at the European level: reducing the duration of civil and criminal proceedings and digitizing the first-instance criminal trial by 2025. Alongside these changes is the debate on the use of Artificial Intelligence in the justice sector, a key issue on the G7 agenda under the Italian presidency. This meeting offers a moment of reflection on the prospects and new frontiers of a more efficient, innovative, and accessible justice system.
On the occasion of the event, the reading Beyond Borders will take place, conceived by D’aRteventi, with artistic direction and text adaptation by Daniela Ursino. It is a synthesis of thoughts and emotions expressed and written by inmates attending the theater workshop at the Messina and Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto prisons, offering a moment of reflection on the theme of inmate rehabilitation through the tool of theatrical art both inside and outside prison walls, towards a new life within the boundaries of justice.
