Sergio Castellitto

Film and theatre actor, Sergio Castellitto starred in films directed by E. Scola (La Famiglia, 1978), R. Tognazzi (Piccoli equivoci, 1989), C. Verdone (Stasera a casa di Alice, 1990), M. Monicelli (Rossini!, Rossini!, 1991), F. Archibugi (Il grande cocomero, 1993 – Con gli occhi chiusi, 1994), G. Tornatore (L’uomo delle stelle, 1995), G. Muccino (L’ultimo bacio, 2001), M. Bellocchio (L’ora di religione, 2002). He has also made several films, including Non ti muovere, 2004, based on the novel by M. Mazzantini, which also earned him the David di Donatello as best actor. In 2013 he was awarded the Pardo d'oro alla carriera at the Locarno Film Festival. Throughout his career, he drew his characters with immediacy and spontaneity, moving easily from comedy to drama, both on the big screen and on television.

Sergio Castellitto will be awarded the Taobuk Award during the Festival Opening Ceremony. Besides, on Sunday 24th June Castellitto will give a masterclass (11:00 a.m.) in which he will talk about himself and his experience as director and actor.
