As in Chiamami col tuo nome and Cercami, L’ultima estate (Guanda) is the portrait of a melancholic youth, of a nostalgia for those desires immersed in the delicate depths of the soul, which, brought to light, reveal all their strength. A journey back in time, among mysteries and stories, towards a past that unexpectedly unites the protagonists, to discover the fascinations and metamorphoses of their own changing emotions.

Andrè Aciman*

He teaches comparative literature at the City University of New York. Guanda published her debut novel, Call Me by Your Name, in 2008, which was the basis for the highly successful 2018 film directed by Luca Guadagnino and whose protagonists return in the 2019 novel, Cercami.
